About Us

My UK News was launched in 2025 by Kieran Doody, an experienced journalist who is passionate about providing insightful updates on the biggest talking points across news, politics, lifestyle and more in the UK.

In the era of generative AI content and Fake News, it is important that people can find an authoritative and trustworthy voice on matters concerning their everyday lives. In a nutshell, that is what brought about My UK News, under the KJD Media umbrella.

But, we endeavour to go one step further than simply reporting on news and updates. A lot of news is consumed without understanding the direct impact it will have on the average person, which is why we won’t just report on news but also provide detailed explanations on what this could mean for you.

My UK News is led by Editor and founder Kieran Doody, with more than a decade of experience with some of the country’s biggest media organisations, including Reach plc and Newsquest. The site aims to become the leading voice with news stories and content that readers want and, most importantly, find useful.

Meet The Team

My UK News is currently a one-man-band run by Kieran Doody in his spare time as a passion project with plans to grow this into a credible news and information source visited by readers across the UK.

As the site grows we aim to employ professional writers to add to what we do. We also believe in giving talent a chance and are always open to contributions from young up-and-coming journalists who need a platform to showcase what they can do.

We can offer aspiring writers the chance to cover topics that are important to them. The industry landscape continues to change rapidly. and as such, we offer collaboration with a seasoned journalist who can guide and nurture talent, equipping writers with the essential skills required in online publishing, often overlooked by traditional journalism courses.

Our company values

We aim to grow a community, not just an audience. We want to keep our readers entertained and engaged with original, trustworthy content. Eventually, we will fund this through advertising to make what we do sustainable.

The site prides itself on speed, accuracy and high-quality content across a wide array of topics. We are also passionate about the responsibility of journalists to inform the general public fairly and independently. Our reporting will enable free speech and ensure open discussion and truthful reporting.

We will also cover topics in the right way, we will not sensationalise content or play on public fears, instead providing insight that can keep our readers informed.
